The Season of Peace

It is a season that the cold air
Can bring out the warmth in people.
A couple sitting by a lit fireplaces,
Snuggling and kissing with mistletoe.
People laughing and chatting together over some hot toddy.
When a little clank means so much to person in need.
When people who do not know each other
Are brought together in joy.
And even as the ball drops,
The time will soon come to lovers.
When a little card of red can be sign saying, "I love you."
When the softer tones of togetherness meet in a dance.
A season when those close spend time with one another.
If we can have it for a season,
Why not a year?
Or life?

The True Gift

One day to the big day,
And I am confused as Sonny the Bird,
What do I give one I love?
Do I give her something at a whim,
Only to end in an air ball?
Do I make something,
And not know why?
Do I send nothing,
And say I?
The true gift comes from knowing the person you love.
Who she is,
What is her,
What is best?
If you think nothing,
Then you are less creative as simpleton,
As even they know art.
Embrace the mystery,
Love the search,
Respect who you give.
Because gifts are like art.
You have to paint the right picture,
Make the sound sculpture,
In order to make the masterpiece.

Holiday Definitions

When we celebrate one,
Do we really need to decipher?
The pluses are different,
Responsibilities vary.
Decorations come in many forms.
The performance is unique.
The why is so many.
But one is clear,
We all love,
We all give.
We are one.
Let us not divide our love.
This is one big party,
With an ending that makes the ball drop.

Child on Fire

A playground filled with sounds of children
Interrupted by sounds of war,
A boy may imagine facing Cobra and Black Bart,
Girls dream of Middle Ages and fairy tales,
But when spoiled adults play their toys,
Youth thinks of one thing,
Running away from the monster.
This is a beast like no other.
Who takes away innocence,
He is made of fire and lead.
Feared by all,
Worshiped by many.
Yet people ask,
How do you conquer the beast?
With  another Godzilla?
Being its buddy?
Banishing it?
There is no answers,
Only fear.

A Rose by the Table

As I enter the day,
A lady in orange waits by the table.
With her, a single red rose.
Her eyes catch me as a hunter to a prey.
As I sit, her soft, warm hands touch mine.
She whispers the sweetest things.
I get lost in the music of joy as I close my eyes.
When I open, Alas!
She is gone.
But the rose remains,
Our reminder of togetherness.
I wait thee
Lady of the rose.

The Cherished Sirens

As I come across the ragged sea,
I see two beautiful women at the angry sea.
They are as beautiful as daffodils in the green grass.
I see them
I cannot break from the sight.
All of a sudden, the mighty storm comes.
Are they illusions,
Used to get sailors off their true paths?
Do I be tempted to fall under their spell?
Then, a miracle of miracles,
As the sea parts
A light shine as a beacon.
I follow it as a puppy to a boy.
Then I come to shore,
My sip safe and undamaged.
Then i see two dames
With beauty that tempts a male virgin,
And hair as long as uncut grass.
Are these more illusions?
They come,
One has her soft hand touch my cheek,
And gives a giggle in the process.
The other a kiss with her bright, red lips.
It's like melted ice cream,
Wet and sweet.
If this nirvana,
Then by god, I am ready.
I am now at peace.

The Happiest Place on Earth

I have come from lands of dread,
Places where joy and love are crimes.
And I come to this place.
Its river is as sweet as milk and honey,
Everyone that lives there is of kindness and warmth.
Even my simplest gesture is seen as the Hope Diamond.
I see nothing but love and joy.
I see that abuse,
Drain of its energy.
But this sweet gift,
Is one that must be preserved
So the next lonely soul can have the same oasis as I.
